Hawk sheath advice?

I'm fixing to make a couple sheaths for mine and my son's Fort Turner Tomahawks.

I'm debating whether I want to make a belt sheath that covers the whole head, or just a thin piece to cover up the cutting edge.

To be honest, I've rarely carried a hatchet or tomahawk in the woods. (always opted for a large knife) so I'm not sure which way to go.

I could appreciate the lightweight and simplicity of the style that just covers the cutting edge, and the simplicity of just slipping the hawk handle under the belt, or throwing it in the daypack, etc. less bulky, lighter, easier to make, etc.

On the other hand I could see where wearing a full sheath could be more comfortable throughout the day, and provide more carry options.

how do y'all prefer to carry your hawks?

I prefer basic carry, as I call it... The entire head of the hawk' covered with the sheath and having it attached to your belt, if you arent carrying a pack... if you are carrying a pack, you can always attach it to your pack with some cord or some tightening belts. :)

My son carries his in a sheath very similiar to the one Dana Turner sells on his site. I tried it and it seemed adequate and quite comfortable for belt carry.
