Hey peoples,

Hehe..broke my Trailhawks handle. Took about 3k throws. 50 throws a day..5 days a week. Builds up lol. Ah, well,no big deal. Nice to know it takes ALOT of throws to break a handle though.

Throwing.. Ah..hum. I was throwing accurately at 25ft, 9 out of ten. 7 out of ten at 50 ft. Blade was alway in, handle vertical to the target. Would you consider that skillful throwing? Target was an average sized tree.

All in all, while the handle lasted, it was a pleasure to have. The head is still in great condition. I love it. I'll just need to order a new handle is all. Not a big issue--after all I put it through. I believe the Trailhawk would be considered a mousehawk, due to it's smaller size, and I assume a larger hawk would throw more easily. The split could have likely been prevented with a paracord wrap, a very tight wrapping. Had no cord on hand. lol. Great hawk, though, splits wood very effectively. Fells small trees easily. Very well made for it's price. Not at all a bad buy.

Check out the CS Pipehawk, it's a nice "just right" middle size between the small Trailhawk and the (for me) too large/heavy Riflemans Hawk.
