Found the time to knock out a tomahawk this weekend. Started life as a 16oz harbour freight ballpeen hammer.

Is the spike hardened as well, or just the cutting edge?

Yes I hardened both ends but not the eye. Dont need a crack there.

Super nice little hawk. Great patina on the head and very nice finish to the handle with great color. Had this one in my hand and I tell you its very nice work.
