I have an idea for a new knife with the Spyder on it. There has been talk recently of the older Dyad. There has also been some chatter about the possbility of a new Hawkbill type blade. Well I got the solution if anyone cares to hear me out. Why not resurrect the old "Dyad" and Instead of using conventional blades make the knife a twin Hawkbill. You could have 2 blades just the like the one on the Harpy for instance and you could also have a heavier version with a Spyderhawk type blade. With everyone lately talking nice about the plain edge Harpy and what a nice model it was ( pretty rare too). You could make this Dyad with 2 Harpy type blades with H-1 blade steel, a G-10 handle and add a lanyard hole. It would be a dream for the fishing industry. Also you could have another variety made for more heavy use or even geared for law enforcement. You could have twin Spyderhawk type blades made from S30V blade Steel, Carbon Fiber handle scales. The potential market is there and It could be done ;) . But will it?

I'd buy it.

Because, you know, Spyderco doesn't have enough hawk-blade knives. :p ;)

But seriously, I collect hawks and have a whole bunch of the Spyderco ones. I'd pay a pretty penny for a NIB plain-edge Harpy, but can't even find one. It's odd that Spyderco won't re-release it. I think they just like to mess with us like that. :(

The Dyad would have one plain and one fully serrated hawk blade? Maybe, but they'd sell a bunch more if it had one hawk and one regular blade.
