For me Sunday was the first time since I've been a dad that Father's Day and my birthday came on the same day. Of course, I played that up for all it was worth! I did pretty well. Had a wonderful day with the family and I got some wonderful gifts. On Tuesday I got home from work and found a box from a certain South American book store on my porch. Interesting. It was from my dad. Interesting... I already got a gift from him. Take a peak inside and... "Cool! A Spyderco box!"... "Cool! Two Spyderco boxes!". Best surprise I've had in a long, long time :D

Awesome! Cool shot! Congrats. I got a serrated dragonfly salt for Father's Day, and I'm loving it so far. Here it is with my friend's heavily used Tasman Salt that I just re-conditioned.

I've been a huge fan of Hawkbill blades for some time now>> but I'm really gaining a big appreciation for those particularly in the H-1 Salt Series. This week I've been using my H-1 Spyderhawk as a companion blade and it has just been great for all the uses I needed it for.

I tend to like the Harpy/Tasman sized Hawkbills the best for size and convenience but the extra muscle you can get from the Spyderhawk is truly awesome. A lot of people fail to see the work value in the Spyderhawk and most want to view it as a martial arts stalwart. The Spyderhawk does indeed have a lot of potential in the area of martial arts but the potential of using it for hard work cutting jobs is also great.

But again the H-1 Hawkbills are truly a great hard use blade and the non corrosive properties of H-1 make it a high consideration for jobs in harsh environments.
