Just picked this one up Today at a Gun Show In Lincoln Nebraska "Rock Creek Renegade's" Black Powder Muzzleloader Show, This Is my first Hawk from HB Forge and It aint gonna be my Last, This Is a Very Well Forged Hawk "Viking Axe" 19 1/2" Handle, 6 1/4" Long from the back of the eye to a Very Sharp 7 3/16" Cutting Edge, 2 1/2 Pound's In Wieght "There Site Say's 5 Pound's on this one but my Scale read's 2 1/2 Pound's", I've been checking out there Web Site for awhile now and after seeing the Work of HB Forge I know I'll be adding more Hawk's from there selection, The Shawnee Throwing Hawk Is on my List as Is the Large Camp Axe, There Price's are very reasonable, This one the Viking Axe list for 61.00 on there Site and after Holding this one In Hand they Make a Real Fine Hawk "This Hawk Is a Cutting Machine" It's a Beast ! Here's there Hawk Selection, http://www.hbforge.com/products/tomahawks.php Doe's anyone else have HB Forge Hawk's I aint seen to many talked about here on the Forum, At there Low Price's & Quality Work "You Cant Go Wrong with a Hawk from HB Forge" I got the Deal of The Day on this one for 35.00, I'm going back to the Show Tomorrow and trying to get a 54 Cal. Flintlock Rifle that caught my eye, There are some Great Buy's In Muzzleloading Rifle's "It Is sure nuff a Buyer's Market !

I've got that axe also, and it's pretty cool. I like the GB Viking Axe too but it's a hell of a lot more cash.

Great deal you got!

The H and B Forge Hawks aren't talked about much on the forums but when they are I hear nothing but good stuff. Would love to get my hands on one of those Viking Axes they are sweet!!

I have several of their hawks and ordered a few more for friends (that was many years ago). At that time they were not finely finished or hardened to the Rockwell level you would expect on a knife but they were a quality, reliable tool that could take a lot of throwing and chopped pretty decently. If I were looking for something in their price range I would definitely order again.

This one sound's like a Very Interesting Hawk The Medieval Spiked Hawk the Head is a very large axe head-measuring approximately 6" long, 6" wide and weighing about 2 lbs. With the handle, it measures about 19" in length. Price includes Handle $75.00 2 lbs. Seem's like It would be a Huge "Heavy Duty Battle Spike Hawk" I think this Is gonna be one I'm going to Order with a Shawnee Throwing Hawk, Heck you can get both of them for around 125.00 Shipped "Not a bad price for two Forged Hawk's" And the Huge Medievial Spike Hawk would be a Great Battle Axe Combo with the Viking Axe, Yep DWK2 I like the Gransfors Bruks Old Style Custom's but like you say "There Very High Priced, Heck you could get an ABS Master Blacksmith to make you a Custom for alot less Money and have a Better Hawk by far, I'd like to get Keith Johnson of Great River Forge to make me a Extra Large Heavy Duty Copy of his Large French Throwing Hawk, I really like that Hawk Head design "It would be Great to get one Made with a 6" or an 8" Cutting Edge and put a 30" Handle on It "That Would Be a Chopping Machine !

Great scores, I'm loving that axe.

Thanks for sharing

Yep there's been some Great Buy's at the Gun Show's here In Eastern Nebraska, And the Gun Show season Is just getting Started, Muzzleloaders are selling at Give-A-Way prices "There's just not much Interest In the Old Time Muzzleloaders It seem's every one Is In to the Modern Firearm's, I like both myself, And I really like the Flintlock Rifle's & Single Shot Pistol's I'm Hoping to get a Flintlock Rifle and Pistol In 54 Cal. I'd really like to get the Lyman Plains Rifle & Pistol that would be a Great Rifle & Pistol Combo In 54 Cal., With the Bad Economy there's Great Buy's to be had In most anything Knive's & Axe's heck you name It Folk's are selling and there selling Cheap !

I got a good deal on a bunch of the GB Ancient Axes from a knife dealer that was discontinuing axes. They are beautifully made and I think they would perform as well as any custom I could order. They are carefully patterned after authentic museum pieces so you are getting some historically accurate axes in addition to the quality craftsmanship.

Snake Dr.

Nice axe. I'm looking at HB forge's Spiked Axe. It is patterned after a naval boarding axe.

awsome axe! now she needs an awsome name, something like...skull biter or brain tickler...lol. i was doing some research on documented viking weapon names the other day, kinda interesting.

Snake Dr....nice score looks like a heavy duty piece...HB Forge does nice work..I have there Shawnee hawk and one of there Rendezvous throwing knives.. Great stuff....

Forgot about the HB knives. I bought one of the leather-handled throwers and agree that it flies nicely.
