Here you go. 11" overall, 6" cutting edge going all the way to the handle, 2" tall at it`s widest, out 0f 3/16" thick O1. If it proves popular I will also be doing them in 5" and 7".

That looks a perfect profile to me so far John, can't wait to see it with handle slabs !!!!

Wow!

I'm definitely keen on this. Can't wait to see the finished product. Great work!

All the best,

- Mike

Perfect! That is exactly how I envisioned it.

Well, I was saving for a Scout Jr.; however, you may have ruined my plans. I'll be waiting until it's finished with size comparison. 7" would be a monster! Good work!

John, that really could become your signature knife. That would work well in so many ways.
I'd love to see yellow or orange g10 on that!

Wash your mouth out, a knife like that needs some good old traditional wooden slabs ! Oak or antique walnut maybe !!!!

You are, of course, correct. I am simply thinking for my personal preference as a user. I absolutely love a nice burl or most other wood scales but alas I am getting old and grumpy.
I want to be able to see it when I need it dagnabbit!:D
Come to think of it though my EWOK has those wonderful natural micarta scales...;)

I'm thinking that it would look great with lightly scorched oak handles and brass pins - maybe with a loveless bolt for the centre pin.

I can just picture myself washing pine sap off one of these after a nice, long snowshoe excursion.

All the best,

- Mike

SWMBO wants to know if these can be done in 3/32 or even 1/16 steel. 1095 or O1. The EWOK in 3/32 seems bulletproof but thin enough to be a great slicer.
She and I both think that would make a hell of a good kitchen blade.

I would think so. Bige610 has a Nessmuk in 3/32" and udtjim has a Hiker Plus like pitdog`s in 1/16" I heat treated it today, will be doing finish grinding tomorrow, and will finish it by Tuesday,

Very interesting. I will be saving up.
