Is anyone familiar with it? It looks like a high tech version of the Buck 110 but with axis lock and pocket clip additions as well as G10 scales rather than wood. I found an online source with it in stock at an excellent price but it seems to be a scarce knife even though Benchmade lists it as available. Based on listed dimensions it is a bit larger than the Buck.
I have always thought that the Buck 110 was one of the best looking folders around and I have an older one w/o a model number marking. It may date to my Navy service days and I got out in 1972. In fact it was called the "Folding Hunter" when I bought mine as I recall but there is no such marking on it.
I also have the Schrade clone with the blade marked "SCHRADE+" and under that "U.S.A. LB7" in one line. The tailpiece brass has a 4 digit number 9106. I have no idea of what the 4 digit number is about other than possibly a date code. Anyone know it's meaning? It seems too short for a serial number. With it's slightly rounded edges compared to the Buck and better finish on the wood scales I actually prefer the Schrade version.
