i just got my other hd-7 and it has a strider like striping on the ti. could you do something like that to my other hd-7?? Thanks alot

What they normally do on that type thing is this. After heat treatment the blade comes out of the oven with an oxidized look that is the darker color you see on those stripes. Imagine the whole blade that dark. This is typical. I normally leave that finish on them for myself because I like how primitive it looks.

Anyway, to get the stripes they simply tape off the blade in stripe pattern with masking tape and then bead blast the blade. All the areas covered by the tape remain dark and all the areas blasted turn the lighter gray color. Then you peel off the tape.

So in answer to your question. No. I don't know how to make it striped at this point. I'm not saying some genius out there can't do it. I know I cannot though.

Sorry Theo.

You mean the titanium handle? Well thats a different story. I can anodize stripes on ti. I thought you meant the blade.

Sorry my bad.

Not sure what to charge since I've never done it.

The ti side being the one with the Detent ball in place I will have to cover that ball up, then tape it off for a pattern and that will be the time consumer. Once I get it all taped off its a piece of cake after that.

I'm thinking about an hour but it may not be. I'll probably re bead blast it just before anodizing to clean it of any oils and stuff and then windex it off before taping.

Say $25 on it to be safe.
