just ordered my super cqc-7 lycosa Any variation on the cqc-7 for christmas would be cool with me. I personally prefer the regular cqc-7 blade shape, its really nice for scraping and prying like that.

Update: I just heard from EKI... NO HD-7's for awhile.

I currently own two - theyre worth the money and the wait.

They're noticeably thinner than cqc-7 models but feel 2x as solid.

Emerson HD7 is most likely my answer to the age-old question of "if you could have only one knife...."

Wait wait what's thinner exactly? I remember seeing pics and the 7 was as thick as the HD 7, or am I remembering wrong?

blade is the same i think. But the overall width of the HD-7when closed (handles, knife, liners, etc) has a thinner profile than a CQC-7. I'll snap a pic later to compare.

I would agree - a little "wider" from edge to spine, but not thicker steel. looks a tad more stout
