Next knife looking to get a heavy-duty folder, 3"-4" blade, between $100-$200 with (must have!) a deep pocket clip. North American, European or Japanese only. Options found so far have been ZT0500 MUDD and Al Mar Sere 2000. Any great picks with these parameters I should also look at?

To me it's more of a high med.-low hard use knife but the Kershaw Junkyard Dog II with a STR low ride clip sounds like it would fit the bill. This combo would set you back less than $100 if you get a blem from Kershawguy on this forum. The liners are very thick and the handle is well designed. The only think that limits its hard use is the blade thickness isn't on par with the ZT's and such.

STR can make deep carry pocket clips for almost any folder at very fair prices, so I wouldn't narrow your search to knives that come with deep carry clips from the factory. Depending on the model you choose, you won't even have to send it in. Just order the clip.

In that price range I'd recommend any ZT (0200, 0350, the 0300 goes for around $230); Spyderco Chinook 3 and Paramilitary 2; Benchmade 760 Lum Ti (it's a tanto), MPR (the blade is a bit under 3", but the knife is a tank).

How heavy is heavy?

Will you be prying with it, chopping, batoning? Or do you mean "heavy cutting" such as carpets, cardboard, drywall?

If you could provide more information on the type of usage it would be helpful.

Two that I use I use all the time in that price range are the Spyderco Manix 2 and the ZT 350. I have a ZT 500 but I find it to be too heavy for a pocket carry.

You guys are gonna laugh at me, but my $30 Tenasious laughs at most of the jobs I give it.

The Spyderco Manix II $75 is VERY solid. Full non-skeletonized steel liners. I'd put it up against my ZT0350 anyday. And that saber ground 154cm blade is very rigid. It's kinda unbalanced for a SD knife but its the best bang for your buck your gonna get.

The G-10 is cut so nice..

Will only be using it for light duty stuff + SD, but just want it to be as rugged as possible. ZT 0200 and Chinook 3 seem like fine options but with extra cost for custom clip...those two and the Al Mar Sere 2000 (clip fine as it is) might be my best bets.
