After looking at the Emerson site, I am confused. What is the difference in reality, to make the HD so much more pricy?

The more recent generations of Emersons have one detent. My Zealot for exampleIt's also WAY smoother than any linerlock Emerson because it doesn't have the double detent. I've been carrying one for the past 9 months and I can say with certainty that it is worth the extra cash over a standard 7.
No, all special runs are not single detent. The special runs are all single detent. Regular productions are still double detent. To be honest, I think they should do away with it altogether, but that's for another thread.

There was just another run of HD7's.

And by all indications, so will future special runs. Stuff like colored handles are still double detent.
