This just came today. Been waiting a little ovet a month since payment. This was very much worth the wait. I'll put up a video after it gets dark. The CMOS in my phone camera has drastically dimmed the beam shot in the picture below but it is every bit as bright (if not brighter) than my Thrunite TN12 which boasts 700 lumens. I also purchased some rechargeable Li ion batteries and a charger from HDS.

Nice light. Those are supposed to quite sturdy/durable, aren't they?

the instructions look like they'd take some practice.

I remember when these first came out several years ago, the guy that made them (Henry, maybe?) would throw one of these lights at the floor or wall as hard as he could, repeatedly, to show how durable they are. I have a couple of old school versions. They are way cool. Once you get used to the user interface, its second nature.

I've got several HDS lights, and I love them. I've actually done this several times when with friends at Blade to show the durability of the light. Turn it on, throw it at floor and watch it bounce. Pick it up to show dings scratches on the light but that it still functions perfectly.
Here's a fun pic of one of mine, nothing earth shattering but still fun.

This is one of my HDS lights frozen in a jug of water (obviously still functioning)
