He doesn't do brushes, he can't paint...he just plays with knives

Very cool, I really like the colors you can get from leather. And some of those are entire walls wide and tall.

What's really neat is how well he does something that you just don't see other people doing. You can't go to school for it, you just have to ... like to play with knives. :)

Some of his stuff looks like photographs unless one looks from close up. I recall seeing this posted in the sheaths & such forum and, iirc, Leatherman said that he has done a bit of it as well.

VERY impressive!

I took the liberty of screen-grabbing the picture of his tools.

Interesting technique. I wonder if he uses a projector to establish the general areas of detail for the etching... because his final products are VERY well done. A projector would certainly make things easier!

You can't say all art is for sissies after seeing that.

It's pretty much all the same deal, just different media the artists choose to work with. Some engrave copper and metals, some do woodcuts, some paint, some sculpt, et cetera. I think this Evans guy turns out some highly realistic images, and the natural colours of the leather are easy on the eyes. Do I think the supposed manly factor is important? Not really.

That has to be one of the most unique forms of art I have ever seen. My hats off to that guy. Absolutely incredible.......plus of course he's going to get a bit of a biased love from all of us because of his tools. Haha

What's that Bowie he has?I like that.
It's mind blowing what the human mind and body can accomplish with the will and the dedication.
