This is sad, besides being a great comedian, he also help a lot of younger cats in the business move up the ladder when they were starting out.

Genuinely sad news.

He was a really, really funny guy, the top of his craft, but from what I've read and heard about him he will also be remembered for many acts of generosity and for giving many other comedians opportunities to shine, noticeably Sam Kinison in "Back to School" during a time when most studios wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole.
 
Damn...Rappin' Rodney was one cool dude!...At least he'll live on in the many excellent funny movies he was in, and in his taped stand-up comedy acts.

That is so sad. Very funny,and helped a lot of other people out.

The first joke I ever heard from him is(When my wife sits around the house------
SHE SITS AROUND THE HOUSE) everyone knows it now. But back then that
was some funny ****. RIP.
 
Damn. He one was of a kind, and will be remembered. :(
