does anyone have any experience with truper chetes. seems that most south American chetes are drying up in PR most every where got trupers. they seem ok. not as good as chispas or martindales though. anyone got one? thanks

joey.

Only ever had the chance to play with one once and it was about the same class as a Cold Steel. Not bad, not top of the line either. Better than Tractor Supply made-in-China off-brand stuff by a long shot, that's for sure. :)

Yep that was my opinion as well, I think the martindales are the better ones. But I surely agree the Mexicans are way better than the Chinese ones. looks like Ill be buying online from now on. The brick and mortar stores are all Mexican branded.

thank you

Martindale is good stuff but I wish they corrected the warp to 'em from blanking/heat treatment. They do put a heck of a distal taper on their blades, which is lovely.

I've seen lots of trupers in action and have one of my own as well...people around here use them for just about anything, even regularly batoning through hard wood- i haven't seen one break yet...not a huge fan of the handle, but it's functional
