Thats the design also . Just figure the head radius size, machine it into the end of a rod then put a small split in it, heat treat it and shazam...

Does the head spinner just round the end of the pin over or does it also mushroom the head of the pin?

 

A head spinner will actually dome the head of the pin if it is cut right.

The pin spinners are available from Texas Knifemaker's Supply as well. They will flange or "mushroom" the heads. By the way, their new catalog is "download-able" from their website. Make sure you have the Adobe reader 4.0 before you do.
