Not me.One of my motto's that has served me well is "you seldom are wrong doing opposite of the masses".I'm heading for the city.

That spot you like to hunt or camp in that you plan to run to will be filled with others thinking the same way.

The deer will all be shot within the first week anyway.OK? Game laws will not be followed along with any other law. Here we have to hunt with shotguns.Well if the big one comes,People will be out their with a rifle and a spotlight droping every deer they see. You'll have plenty of company.Rabbits, ducks ect.won't last long.

With everyone leaving the cities,I think I may head there and clean out all the canned goods ect..Hell if I only got 2 cans out of each apartment, how much would that add up to from a highrise? Now others may stay but I bet those people will be thinking of taking things other than canned goods. You know looters looking for "valuables",not thinking about survival.

The most useful survival item will be a gun. With it you can get anything you need by taking it from another.

I believe that due to the lack of survival skills, the masses will be returning from the hills (wilderness) much sooner than later. Watch your "back side." Good luck to you and may the good Lord bless all our BEST efforts, regardless of the compass setting.

Have fun. The cities should be full of folks just like you.

What on earth are you talking about?

Are you expecting an invasion?

Hi RH: I don't know about others, but I found great humor and relaxation in your question. :) The timing could not have been better. I believe we are having an open debate/discussion concerning which way a person should go in the "unlikely event of an evasion" on America. Do they head for the hills or stay in the city. I do not believe there will be an invasion anythime soon (personal opinion), but perhaps given the recent events the timing is right to discuss the subject. Your question, for me, added a much needed wedge between reality of current events and the chance of it happening again.

What would you do...stay put or head for the hills, and why?

Thank's

Just trying to get people to think. So many think survival is just for in the woods. That they'll go live off the land, shoot a deer every once in a while and live relativly undisturbed.

Personally I think my woods skills are quite good,I've spent many a week in unguided canoe trips in places like the Yukon,Britsh columbia and many other areas 100's of miles from a road.I grew up(such that it is)hunting, fishing and trapping. My family had a huge garden and canned a lot of food.My wife is a farm girl and we own 116 acres of farm land.So I feel quite confident in making it in the hills or city.

No I'm not expecting an invasion. But some feel there may be a need to flee an area do to attacks like before or biological weapons ect.I'm just trying to get people to think about every possibility like, you may not get to pick where you go,and you may have way more people there when you get there.Every hunter, hiker, camper and fellow red neck that I know says their going to their hunting camp or the mountains you might as the white shirts say "want to think outside the box".

About the gun,No I'm not going to rob you on the trail for your beef jerky. But in an end of the world head to the hills its the big one a lot of others will. And if it ever comes down to getting food or medicine for your family to live you'll use yours that way also.
Self defense doesn't mean the threat to your life comes only from a deadly weapon. The classic law school example is 2 sailors cling to a floating spar that will only hold up 1.So one sailor kills the other so that he may live.

Ok you live out in the sticks. You grow food and raise animals, got a wood stove and all the other stuff to survive.Great! Now an f-14 shoots down a terrorists plane out over the "sticks",trouble is this one was loaded with anthrax.I know theres about as much chance of that as 2 planes flying into wtc.See we can't say where we'll run to or stay put at anymore. In all likelyhood the next attack may be in a big city which may force people to the sticks or maybe they'll blow up a train carrying chemicals out in the sticks because that where security is least or people least expect it.

Dave,I'm a good guy.I help people now and I would then.I volunteer medic at my kids football games, coach their sports and help out at their school.I yell at people that drive to fast down our street ,I want to keep everyone safe.

I'm talking about its life or death,my family needs something to live. The lifeboats full and my kids are in the water, well then I will make a couple of new spots in that boat.SURVIVAL.
