Benchmade's warranty should say, DO NOT TAKE APART, RISK OF EXTREME HEADACHES!!!!

Anyone gotten a headache from putting it back together after complete disassemebly?

Lol, been there man, the first axis lock you completely disassemble can be a challenge. It gets progressively easier the more you do it. I've learned over the years though, don't disassemble the axis lock mechanism itself unless you absolutely have to, the rest of the knife comes apart and goes together relatively painlessly, but that darn locking mechanism...

Well, the washers were BLACK so I had to clean it out but I got it back together and it turns out the pocket screw threads are completely stripped.

Would it really matter?

WHAT IS NOT COVERED

This Warranty does not cover normal wear, resharpening of the blade, damage caused by neglect, misuse or the failure to perform normal or necessary maintenance, disassembly of any knife by any person other than Benchmade’s Warranty department, or shipping costs for returned knives.

No headache, but I'll admit the first time putting my 3550 back together was an exercise in patience.

Just put scales on a mini-grip this morning and it took a lot longer than I would have liked. It also didn't help that one of the omega springs shot off the knife and landed in carpet about 12 feet away. I couldn't find it for the life of me, but my five year old daughter found it with a flashlight in a matter of minutes. :)

Certainly no fun, the 940's stop pin is the most annoying ever, it falls out 99% of the time your trying to put it back together.

When I took my 940 apart, I made a scale diagram on a piece of paper and numbered each screw/piece. Then I took a piece of masking tape and labeled it with all the screw/piece numbers. As I took the knife apart, stuck all the screws/pieces to the tape.
