Headed to the BBQ this Weekend

Barring rain, we're loading up and heading down to the 18th Annual Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue on Saturday. I'm sure a Busse or two will tag along for the ride. As you can see below, one Badger is already clamoring to go.

There won't be a whole lot of drinking. Jack Daniel's is distilled in a dry county!

You can buy select bottles at the distillery visitor's center, but that's it.

Of course, there's always the flask... and JD slipped into some Coke.

Any Squires here among the HOGs and piglets?

I will guess that you have already been to the distillery, but if not, let me tell you -- the distillery is actually quite a little drive from that billboard along the freeway (which one, I don't remember) that points you in the right direction. It's been several years, but I think it's about 70 miles...I think.

We take the scenic route. Perfect time of year with all the leaves changing color.

I've been to the JD distillery numerous times and to the GD (George Dickel, for the unintiated) distillery once. Now, if you want to get off the beaten path, then you've got to go visit George...

Would like to take a trip up to Louisville some time and tour some distillerys around the area like Woodford, Maker's Mark, Jim Beam... heck, maybe even Heaven Hill. :thumbup:
