Well kids it's time to get packed and ready for the journey to Girard, KS tomorrow. 6:45 AM flight out of Reno and will get to KC, MO at about 3 PM via Mpls-St Paul.

Very busy schedule this journey. Trip down to see Yvsa and Terry. Visits with a couple of very old pals of 60+ years. Visit to a couple of graveyards. 50th class reunion. A couple of lunches with great old pals. Visit with 89 year old Dad and sisters. But, I'll try to answer a little email and make a few posts.

Will get back to Reno next Tuesday, late night but up and running (and shipping!) Wed. with a little luck and consent of the Great Mystery.

Keep things under control.

We're gonna feed and water the Ol' Hoss real good!!!!!
Uncle Bill is lamentening about not losing any weight, but when ya go to another skin's place you will dayumed sure eat & drink good and especially if it's your Bro that you're visiting.
biggrin.gif

Good pork roast cooked real slow and tender, fresh hot home made biscuits, corn on the cob, mashed taters and gravy from the meat and we get to keep the leftovers. If there are any.

Ya only have to look out for the "49's" where ya wake up some 500 miles from home in a strange house with strange people eatin bacon and eggs in the kitchen and callin ya "cuz" and tellin just how much they enjoyed seein ya married off to their little kin gal that they never expected too see married.
biggrin.gif

And that's why there are disclaimers on the flyers at a lot of powwows sayin they ain't responsible for lost kids, dented cars, divorces and new marriages among other things.

It's a whole 'nother culture that not a lot of non-ndn's see.

Kinda funny though, I still haven't been asked about the crossed khukuris on the bottom of my otter drag. Maybe this year.
biggrin.gif

Too bad you cain't stay a few more days Bro. There is a Big Powwow up at Copan Oklahoma, not far from the Kansas line.
I think maybe Barb and me might go and especially if I'm able to dance, oh hay-ell we might go anyway dance or not.
At the least there will be some good frybread and honey or moleasses and maybe some Indin Tacos.
These people aren't Cherokee so there won't be any Yellow Jacket Soup, kinda early for that anyway, gotta let 'em lay their eggs and wait fer 'em to hatch before ya can gather the nests.
biggrin.gif

It's not a lot easier than gatherin' hickory nuts fer "Kinuchi." Them Yaller Jackets get mighty mad when ya try to steal their babies, but everything that lives is that way ainni't?

Uncle Bill is learning.

At one time he had over what? Two years solid on the forum every day without a break? The trip to Nepal followed by the heart attack apparently made an impression. Now he's off gallivanting all over the place.

Good. Now get out there and do it all while you can. Ain't no gawruntee tomorrow's gonna show up for you.

Have a great trip Uncle Bill,
It's about time you get away from the computer for a while. Hopefully we won't get you kicked off of bladeforums while you're away.

Oh yeah, a hunky ( Hungarian ) trick with the frybread is to take along some cloves of garlic and quick as it cools down where you can hold it, rub the cleaned garlic all over. Hot, fragrant, garlic scented oil and yeasty crusty frybread... And the Portagees have this minted beef they cook up with cabbage every year at Pentecost ( to commemorate the breaking of the famine when the ships sent to buy food returned loaded with food on the feast of Pentecost.

When it comes to eating, steal gleefully from anyone and everyone who makes it worthwhile. Hungarian Kalacz' - ahhh, ohhh, mmmm.

Reminds me of the time I found a hunky restaurant on Fisherman's Wharf and started ordering food for the soul. To be told that the owner wasn't in, and he was the only one in the joint that spoke Hungarian.

Uncle ,
We'll see ya in a couple of days. I don't think I'll eat for a few days so I'll have room for all the food Toms fixing.
