I'll be heading down to the Southern Bahamas next week to set up a location for airdrop operations for relief supplies into Haiti. It will be somewhat of a bare base operation, so I'll be taking along some basic supplies with me. For cutlery, I'll have my Leatherman, at least one SAK, my Benchmade Desert Griptilian, and problaby my good ol' Case Medium Stockman.

It should be an interesting, and, hopefully, a successful operation.

Good luck brother. You might want to add a fixed blade. Maybe something like a Becker TacTool or an Ontario SP8 that you could use to open crates and boxes in a pinch as well as being able to cut stuff.

Thought about that, chewbacca. Probably will....22 years in Special Operations and a bunch of years running around the world doing interesting things has taught me the value of a good fixed-blade. I have several smaller, useful blades from which to choose.

Be safe and may God bless you and those you go to help. May He also protect you and keep you safe.

keep a close eye out for those guys wielding machetes. We don't need any field reports from you about how effective a well made machete is.
I am sure that you realize that sometimes relief workers, instead of being welcomed, are often targets of opportunity due to the 'stuff' you have with you.
