Im headed to Washington DC ... Are there any knife stores around DC or Williamsburg, VA? I am looking to purchase the Spyderco Persistence while I am there .. I have a thing for buy blades when I go on trips (thats memories for me) ... Im gonna be in DC 2 days, then we are going to VA for the rest of the week ..

If you have a car or know how to use the metro you can get out to College Park, MD and pick up a Persistence at Knife Center, just call ahead and let them know you want to pick it up there.

There's a Chesapeake Knife & Tool in the mall at Union Station, just behind the Capitol in DC, also in the "big" mall in Georgetown. Also in Tysons Corner in McLean, VA. Those are probably your best bet in the DC area. Be prepared to pay full retail. But there's a lot of ground to cover between DC and Williamsburg! It's a bit of a haul. As long as you're driving, might as well make the trek to Bluefield, VA and visit New Graham Pharmacy- aka "knife mecca"!

KNIFE CENTER in College Park Maryland. Look for KnifeCenter.com for directions and excellent prices!

You could buy one off of me while you are in DC. Some say that meeting me is memorable in and of itself... add a knife, and you're guaranteed to remember the trip.

Green Top Sporting Goods (do Google) just off I-95 north of Richmond VA has always been pretty good. Probably MSRP but a good store w/good folks.

- TAKE EXIT 86B ONTO SLIDING HILL ROAD
- GO A HALF MILE
- TAKE A LEFT TURN ON US.1 / WASHINGTON HWY.

Two notes to previous posts...

Chesapeake K&T has been out of business for many years so you won't find them in the malls any more.

Knifecenter in College Park is awesome but they're primarily an Internet sales company - i.e. they are not set up for browsing. You can go pick up knives there but call ahead and make sure they have them in stock.

Ranger Surplus in Tysons has a couple of cases of knives, too. A variety of knock-offs but also some Spydercos, Kershaws, Cold Steel, Boker, etc...

Thanks for the stores everyone ... Any army / navy surplus stores in the area? Im gonna be in DC Sunday, Monday, and we are heading to Williamsburg, VA the rest of the week .. Driving back home Saturday

There is a Ranger Surplus in Bethesda. A short metro ride from downtown. I've never been in there but they might have some knives. Chesapeake Knife and Tool WAS a great place to go until they went out of business.

If you are going to Williamsburg you could always stop at the Bass Pro Shoppe. You can see it from 95. Not sure exactly which city it's in but it's before you get to Richmond.

Made it to Williamsburg, headed to DC around lunch today .. I hope I can find some of the places you guys mentioned.. Really hoping to find a Spyderco Persistence somewhere
