Anyone here have a Pelican 2640 headlamp? It is a LED/
halogen combo that uses 4 AA's in a battery back that rides
at the back of the head, opposite of the light.
How comfortable is it? Does the weight of the battery back
bother you? How do you like the light in general?

Thanks in advance.

I don't have the Pelican, but I do have a Petzl Duo that sounds like it is the same set up. Mine is very comfortable and lots of light!

Hi, this is my first post here... unfortunately i'm mostly into flashlights, but a member from here told me to check this site out anyway and so here I am!

I have a 2610 Headsup (3 Led) that I absolutely love cos of the weight, not sure about the 2640, but a friend of mine uses a Petzl Duo (simliar), dual light with batt pack on back of head strap. I feel it's kinda bulky and cumbersome to have a separate batt pack, and unless you really the need for an extremely long runtime, I'd recommend the 2620 which is a Xenon/3 LEd combo. Pretty good runtime on the LEDs, and takes only 3AAA!

You're most welcome Bruceter!! Well, if you're not limiting yourself to just Pelican headlamps, then you might want to check out other brands as well, for example Petzl , or Princeton Tec , just to name a few... Let me know if you're interested in knowing more about flashlights and stuff.. there's a place that lots of 'flashaholics' like myself go to all the time... Have fun!
