Hi there,

I'm looking for a good, reliable headlamp. I'd like a lamp that uses 18650 batteries and is USB rechargeable, but neither of these are mandatory. Budget isn't really an issue.

I've been looking at the Nitecore HC90, but I'd like some more input before I pull the trigger. I'm open to any suggestions.

Thanks.

Coast just came out with the FL85. It's Weather Proof, 540 lumen, has a Red setting, and uses 3AAA batteries. I know it's not the power method you prefer but 540 lumens at that price is hard to beat. I've used Coast headlamps for about 2yrs and have no complaints.

I currently have a black diamond storm. It is not rechargeable. The "revolt" is their rechargeable one. It uses AAA batteries which is good because you can carry some alkalines as back up. My previous two headlamps were petzl. I'd say quality is comparable between the two companies. Look for 2015 revolt if you want a deal.
