Headlight trouble

I'm getting really tired of every third car I pass flashing me with their highbeams because they can't tell the difference between my highbeams and my regular headlights. Does anyone know if there's a way to turn down the brightness of your headlights if there is no inside control for it?

There are two adjustment screws for each headlight, and one spring. They determine three points (three points determine a plane, remember your geometry classes?) and control your headlight alignment. It's not a matter of brightness; it's a matter of where it's pointed. Your low beam is supposed to point low, at the road, not at the other driver's eyes.

You can take a screwdriver and probably get it good enough just eyeballing where the beams hit. It helps if you park facing a blank wall. Or you can take it anyplace that does inspections and they'll charge you $5 and get it perfect. It only takes a minute, for them.

What car?

Checking the adjustment is good, but some lights are so bright and have so much spill it makes little difference. I wonder how some of these even got DOT approval.

This most often is a problem with people who put lift kits on trucks, but don't think to readjust their lights.

Hope this helps.

Can't find the screws, it's a 2006 Dodge Stratus. I'm assuming they'd be behind the lights but I can't find them. Anyone know where they'd be?

It looks like the screws are part of the housing of the reflector. Based on a picture of a replacement light assembly.

Never mind, I found the screws and lowered them to where someone else's lights were hitting on the wall. Hopefully, I lowered them enough so that people stop flashing me with their highbeams. Thanks for the help.
