Not sure what is going on in this sale. The seller is either using an actual Hinderer in the photo as a representation of the fake Hinderer he's selling OR the Hinderer fakes have just taken a huge leap in quality.

I'm familiar with the Kevin John clones but they've always been safe in the way they go about their 'clones' by not branding them or using makers marks etc. But as you can see in one of the pics the Hinderer name stamp on the the top of the frame is very much present.

This is a heads up, in zero way do I condone the purchase or sale of these blatant rip offs of intellectual and creative property.

On second look I believe I can confirm that the pictures are indeed of an actual counterfeit. One of the things I'm seeing is the jimping on the flipper lever is nothing like an actual Hinderer. I was hoping he was just using a photo stand-in of a real RHK but doesn't seem to be the case, bad news. Be careful out there these things could fool just about anyone.

Rubi should be along shortly. I'm not a mod so you can take this with a grain a salt, but I don't think these post are allowed per the stickies. I do personally appreciate the heads up.

My apologies if this is considered out of line, I'm just unsure of how else to warn prospective buyers. Dropping 700-1000 dollars depending on where and what you buy on a potential fake would have me livid beyond words. Perhaps just the photos would be ok ? Just let me know mods.

We don't discuss the fakes and knockoffs or even 3rd party pieces / "pimping" here. PM / e-mail any of the guys in Red whenever one has a question about fakes, etc..

If you're going to come and play here you should read the stickies, this one in particular... http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...New-quot-to-the-Hinderer-Forum-(-Please-Read)
We don't like to give cheaters any publicity especially in a forum paid for by RHK. Does that make sense?
Anyone considering buying a Hinderer Knife should search this forum for "fake". It's been brought up more times than I care to remember by less anonymous members I might add.
