Are they dumb or are they dumb? That was far and away one of the best knives they made! They have done some daft stuff, but this takes the micky. How dare they can a knife I like!

They took a big risk bringing a knife of that type into this rough market. I liked the 750 I got at the beginning of the production. Do you know why they are terminating it? due to sales...production problems.....one killed someone important?

I don't know why they are canning it. If I had to guess, a lot of new products have been released and they are pushing the AXIS like it is the second coming! Yes its a great system, but I far prefer a good old framelock myself. The 750 had the problem of always being refered to as the 'poor mans Sebenza' and the spotty QC was a problem. I don't doubt for a min that this model suffered a loss of sales as it looked a little old fashioned to those who wan't all flash and no trousers. The 750 was a real workhorse, a very nice knife, well thought out and strong as anything like it on the market. The Sebi beats it at every turn, but at a MUCH higher price point.

I will miss that knife.

Rest In Peace 750. I for one am sorry you are going.

Is it a definite decision? Who said that, someone on the BM forum?

You know what guys, I agree that it is a bad move. Sales were probably the reason; that's why they and other companies have discontinued stuff in the past. So, I guess you've got three courses of action here if you're interested at all in "Saving the 750"...

1. You can keep spitting in the wind by posting here (digging up every negative comment toward BM you can find),

2. Perhaps twenty of you can go out and buy about twelve or so 750's to spontaneously boost sales and cause a change of heart (unlikely, but it would probably work),

Or 3. You can post this at the BM Forum (if you can) or email BM with your REASONABLE comments and suggestions. Yeah, it probably won't work, but it's gotta be better than tellin' tales outta school when Benchmade does have their own forum.

Just .01 from someone who really doesn't want to see yet another "BM is so stupid, etc. etc. etc." thread. Sometimes I think they suffer from the "successful sibling syndrome" and take so much crap simply because they've been successful in their endeavors.

Furthermore, "General," I see you have 2000+ posts since this time last year? Been busy causing havoc wherever you go? Let me ask you, how many of your posts wasted on stupid stuff like this?

Sad sad sad. If you LOOK you will see in the CRK Forums I was VERY open in saying that I thought the 750 was one of the best knives around. This is not me back on the BM trail at all. I like this knife and I want to see it maintained in the lineup so others can see such a good knife. Much of the new range is very 'prisy' and nice looking. I was VERY surprised when the 750 did not get the BM TAG name, now I see why, it was in the outray all the time. The 750 was a 'tank' of a folder. I worked darn hard to get mine (its perfect). I would post up on the BM Forum if they ever let me back for daring to discus my problems. Tell you what as so many have said they would and never did, why don't YOU ask why BM won't answer e-mails from me? Polite e-mails asking to know WHY I was banned?Awww, this is old stuff and under the bridge for flippin hecks sake. Grow up.

I post a lot, yes, but look how often I am helping people and giving advice on sharpening. Do a search or shut up! I was also vocal about a company I LOVE CRK&T they have done away with the Seahawk! Another knife I LOVE. As to causing 'Havoc' here, be honest how long has it been since I hung up my 'troll' hat? It is only a select few and mainly BM fanatics like you that seem to jump up and down nowerdays. Grow up or take me to W&C. I will be there if you want to make a point on this. I have taken enough from the likes of you and have had it up to HERE.

At this point it is normal to do the funny rolling eyes thing, but I am not laughing.

Sorry to the moderators for getting a little out of shape here, feel free to edit if you think it is a bit strong.

Right, I'd bet you'd like that.

Sorry, I don't play trollgames, and I'm not one that usually makes waves around here. This kind of stuff is just getting out of hand, and it's caused people who don't think before they post, or just want to generate some negativity.

Call your posts as innocuous as you will; I'd be interested to see what the other 11K+ members think. Anybody can do a search. And I guarandamntee you most of them are not BM fans, making that statement of yours a non-issue.

That's all I really have to say on this matter. Why would you be angry at someone getting angry at your inflammatory posts? There's logic for you.

I do apologize (only) for singling you out, since there's plenty of others who engage in the same behavior. It's sorta the "fall of the once great Rome" around here, and I for one am fatigued with it.

Professor.

Apology accepted. My comments were perhaps a little 'inflammatory' but why? Because I have a real bee in my bonnet over BM. Nope, because they have made a real mistake by removing one of the best products they make from the shelf. I don't give two hoots about BM, but the 750 is a very fine knife and I was planning at a later date on getting another. This is unlikely now... Not my fault is it?

One thing that I have to disagree with is this 'in the old days' story. I was a lurker for a while and worse than I have ever done was flying around then! You have a community that does not talk face to face, you get annoying posts and confrontation. I get no pleasure from a flame war, none at all. However I see a wrong, I point it out! BM are just wrong in my opinion on this issue. Now if sales were so poor as to require this move, well its a pity it came to this. However I personally think it is just because they want to bring out new models to sell. Nothing wrong with that either, but it is a SHAME it came to this knife and not something else, a couple of models spring to mind... Enough of this rubbish. The knife is gone and I will miss it. Think of me what you will, I don't care.

I'm lost........... I don't think General did anything wrong by letting us know that this knife was being discontinuued. He's made a lot of relevant posts since I came to BladeForums, and I've drawn a lot of good knowledge from him.

He may have done something in the past. I wasn't here then. But his posts as of late have been very helpful to me.

Thanks Buzzbait, being the Devils advocate, I have been annoyed with BM for past 'issues' like QC and the way they ignored a paying customer (me). It is not surprising then that when I talk about BM people remember that I had an issue with them and interpret it to be an out and out attack. Oh and I was a... fool at the beginning, no question about that.

For the record I don't care one jot about BM, but I do care about knives. The 750 was and IS a good knife!

Cheers!

Doggone it Wayne! Sometimes it is not what you say, but the provocative, unnessarily negative way you put things. Especially as it pertains to Benchmade. I have to close this thread, not because of the original point you made, but for the way you made it, the reaction to it, and the way you have responded.
