TWO great deals. Vic Eurosport for $8.99 and a FLEXIBLE cutting board for $2.99.
That flexible cutting board is NEAT.
No more cutting on ceramic plates.
:)

Thanks for the tip Lavan. You are all right.

The Vic Eurosport (now at ACE) looks very similar to the Vic Sportsman II which a boardmember alert said was on close-out for $5.20 at Walgreens, along with fox-40 whistles, last summer. Got several of each, thanks to you know who you are.

Below is a link to the Eurosport. Differences to the Sportsman II: nail file on sp2 instead of small blade, corkscrew on sp2 instead of phillips screwdriver. Similar to the sp2 the Eurosport appears to have the rough/grippy surface scales.

Flexible cutting board? I'm gonna have to see that.:D

Thanks for the tip, I'm going to pick up a couple. The only difference between the regular SAKs and these economy models is the nylon scales, right?

Have you checked your local Walgreens Drug Store for the $5.20 clearance SAKs? During the summer I hit about 10 Walgreens in the Portland & Seattle areas finding 3 Sportsman II (classics were also on closeout but cost more than the Sportsman II). However, on a whim about a month ago, I went into a local new suburban Walgreens and found 3 Sportsman II and at least that many Fox40's (also on closeout, cheap). The fun never ends. :D

Few of the employees even knew that they carried Swiss Army Knives let alone that they were on closeout.

In the majority of finds I had to take the items to the register to verify the reduced price. You find the knives bubble-packed back with the automotive/hardware hanging. Each store I visited had the exact same merchandise layout.

I think, but I am not sure, you are correct about the scales. Rough nylon vs smooth cellidor separate the economy over the regular. Others on the board know more than I about the SAKs.

I'm going to give that a shot tomorrow. Still going to get a few Europsorts. A thin, cheap SAK with a Phillips screwdriver has been on my list.

Picked one up at my local ACE yesterday. I try as much as possible to support this independent when I can vs. Depot and Lowes.

Went to Ace this morning. I love this knife--all the basics I need, and no corkscrews.

If anyone's going to buy one, they were with a wall of all sorts of cheap stuff on sale. Not with the other SAKs and knives, and at least one person working there didn't know about them.
