Just a heads up about TAD, they have a Viper for sale. It looks like a zero grind, and it is a 2001 with the SpecWar logo. If somebody is looking for one, these guys have one.

Nice piece and TAD are really top notch guys.

Frankly, I was surprised when I saw the selling price. Do you think this is a sign of things to come? I have noticed that numerous Emerson Customs are making there way to market, and that prices are being driven down. Who knows, if this trend continues then I might be able to find that $900 CQC6 I have been dreaming of.

Yeah, a $900 6, I would take one, but unfortunately I think it isn't going to happen for a while.

Just curious as to how long ago was that, or was that a the lottery.

I acquire it about 8 months ago from the secondary market. A fellow Suspect passed it up so that I could get it (Sniper308). The knife itself was not new. The bolsters were pretty scuffed up & a few screws were stripped; including the screw for the thumb stud. I bead blasted the scales & replaced the screws. Now the knife is like new. It was my daily carry up until recently when I replaced it with a Larry Chew Mini Spitfire.

It just worked out that both the seller & I were both from Long Island so the exchange was done in person.

There is a whole write up about it here somewhere with before & after pictures. I was in my polishing with a dremel tool / satin finish / vacation with nothing to do mode back then & took lots of pics of everything. :)
