Hello all. I was parusing the jantz catalog the other day and I saw a round headspinner. My only problem is that I usually use 5/32 pins or larger in my hidden tang and scaled knives. The jantz spinner only does the pins smaller than 5/32. Does anyone know where to find a headspinner for larger pinstock? I thought about just using my belt sander to shape the heads then polish smooth with my buffer. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Spinners are useful on knives that were factory spun. If you are making your own knives, or the rivets you are replacing are not spun- the spinner is unnecessary.
Just file your pins about 1/16" high on either side, carefully peen with a small hammer, and polish them on a buffer if you want the heads raised. Or, you can grind them flush and polish.

Thanks for the reply. I forget to mention that I make stag horn base hidden tangs. The reason I was looking for a larger headspinner is so I can finish the pin without having to touch the horn with a buffer or grinding belt. I want to keep the horn natural. Any ideas?

You can make them on a lathe.
Or, you can peen the pins with a punch.

I have a friend that makes pin spinner kits.I use them and they work well. His go to 1/8".Tank ,TbarK Custom knives makes them.
