Good day everyone. For those of you that don't know, we have been working on setting up a little get together. There are a couple of ideas floating around but I'm still working through a few of the details.
The idea is to get a bunch of the Rats and Hogs together for show and tell,camp stories and whatnot. Kind of like the forum here but in person. We are currently trying to have this near or at a range for the firearms
enthusiasts among us. So far the majority of people that have expressed interest would like to do this around July or August. Those months don't conflict with any events or shows. It was originally suggested we do it right after Blade in Atlanta but that seems to be too much at once. I'm trying to keep this on a weekend if possible. That seems most convienient for most.
I'm trying to find out who all can and will go. If there isn't enough interest I won't finalize plans with the range or campsite. I also want to
know how many won't camp. If you will only stay in a hotel I'll try and get hotel names and numbers for everyone that's interested. I'm hoping to have decent interest in this and hope that more than just a couple are up to
roughing it.
Alright so you know approximately when. The where is still a little up in the air only because I haven't heard back from the range. The tentative location is in Kentucky. We're trying for the Knob Creek Gun Range. If they
don't have any openings there are a couple of backup plans.

If you are interested in attending please let me know if you're interested in camping or if your idea of roughing it includes a roof. (I included that because your significant others are welcome if they want and I know some won't camp.)
Also let me know if you are interested in the gun range aspect of it. If there are only two or three of us that want to shoot out of a large group we just may do something different. More knife less gun. That's why I haven't solidified any plans.
I wanted to get some feedback first.
If you're interested or have any ideas reply in this thread. After we get a good idea of who is going we can get more into the details and set a
definite date.
I'll wait to see if there's enough interest before I close any deals.

I'm not such a huge camper, but I'm not against the idea either,
I know y'all will help me out if I need it.

And I don't know much about guns, I'm really a mall ninja at heart, but I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy some shooting.
 
If the weekend doesn't interfere with work I would love to go. I of course shoot guns and camp for a living, so that isn't a whole lot of fun for me. But with all the HOGS around and some adult beverages I am willing to sleep out for a night or two. The Mrs. could probably be persuaded as well.

Of course as plans become more solidified I will be able to give a better answer.

Sounds like a whole lot of fun.

I'm in if the dates fit with me. I would probably be looking for a roof being that I'll have the little one with me and I don't think I am quite ready for a tent camp out with him just yet. :D Not to mention he might keep you hogs from going to sleep. :D
 
As long as there is ample notice I can get a clear weekend to attend. I don't think even my medicine would be enough to camp out overnight, lol :) Its been many years since I've been able to do it.

I'll most likely be interested in a hotel..do they have hotels in Kentucy? :D

Sounds like fun. Need a dry patch of ground and a place to make a fire. A place to make a little noise would be ok to.

I had for a moment thought about having it the same time as the machine gun shoot but there would be so much going on. Not to mention Jerry would be working instead of off with us drinking, er...I mean talking.
Not to mention we can't have the range to ourselves if it's the same weekend.
 
Cool. I'm calling to get all open dates and misc info Monday. I figured I'd wait to see how much interest there was before I actually set anything up.
 
Porkadiggum - If the dates work out, I'd be willing to make the 770 mi. drive down to Knob Creek w/ INFI & pistols in the trunk. Camping out would be the only way to go. :cool:
 
It is hard for me to commit without knowing the dates, but the idea sounds interesting to me. I would be up for camping if there are clean showers available, otherwise I would probably look for a roof. I hope it comes together!

PS: I'd be up to bringing a pistol or two along if the firing range part works out.
 
Yeah I understand about the dates. I posted this basically to see if there was enough interest to bother. I hope to get some dates Monday so everyone has a better idea. If nobody would have been intersted I wouldn't have bothered. That's why I wanted everyones opinion before I went through the motions.
I've tried several times to get a hold of the person I need to talk to. He's apparently hard to pin down. I hope to make contact Monday.
