Friend at flea market said his son works at Wally-world. Reports doctored ammo is now in stock.

Anyone know anything about this ?

A concrened Uncle Alan :confused:wants to know.
 
Found this on the interwebs.... "Doctored or Exploding ammunition is ammunition in which high explosive has been substituted for gunpowder. It is designed to explode and destroy the weapon it is used in and perhaps injure or kill the person attempting to fire the weapon."
 
Doctored in the sense it will degrade over a brief period thus making guns impotent .

This will blow the 2nd amendment out of the water.....

Not sure if that was towards my original quote or or the clarifying comment. I'll admit the exploding ammo is crazy, and while far fetched was not sure when I read the "doctored" post if it was some interjected into the system by an individual like the Tylenol scare years ago.
 
My remark was toward the first post but I deleted it after I thought better of posting what I had. I guess product tampering could happen, stores should not restock returned ammo for this reason but anything can happen.

Oh, it's true. I guy I met at a bar told me that a friend of his heard from her cousin that the ammo in question is made of Green Kryptonite and will cripple Superman!

Now, some of you may criticize me and even call me a rumor monger for spreading such baseless and unsubstantiated gossip. You may even point out that I have no credible source to support this whispered hearsay. But I say that it's true! This is not one of those crazy e-mail chain-letter things that my great aunt forwards to me all the time. This is no mere internet chatter. No! This comes from a guy at a bar; what more reliable source is there than that? I tell you that Walmart is selling ammo made of Green Kryptonite as part of a big and evil scheme masterminded by the UN to cripple Superman and make every gun in America radioactive! And this, I assure you, is no common internet whispering campaign against Walmart. This theory is no conspiracy -- or is that this conspiracy is no theory? I can never keep those two straight so confused is my thinking -- but is a real plot against truth, justice, and the American Way.

Uncle Alan most concerned. Buying in stock ammo at gun shows might be an answer for the short term...

That would be okay & untampered with.

I'm aware that some stores sell reloaded ammo under a certain brand name (i'm not familiar with it) and they may use cheaper materials to keep costs down.
 
No, it doesn't make sense. How does ammunitions' potency effect a firearm?

And how does ammunition "lose potency" and still function at any point prior?

This is rumor, innuendo, ... and a political smear job. Whoever started the rumor is a political operative, trying to muddy the debate. Politics, even dirty politics, really belongs in the Political Arena.
