Heart condition...HELP!!!

So after fighting the hype for so long, I finally decided to grab myself a Steel Heart of some type, and ended up with a Heavy Heart wearing mags. The knife looks perfect in all the pictures, but again, as with the much thicker FBMLE, the mag fusion slabs just don't do it for me. The handles on my SHBA, however, are near perfect...so now I'm thinking of just finding a way to grab the SHSHII or a BBSHSH. Here's where I could use your help:

I am looking to make this my big knife, ie...chopper, pack knife, etc... What I'd like to know is which one of the SHSH's would be better for me. Seems to me like the BBSHSH has a shorter blade (in terms of blade height), and might not bring as much force to bear as the standard SHSHII. However, I like the aesthetic appearance of the bird's beak pommel more than the rounded butt on the SHSHII.

So...tell me what you guys think. Are there any things I haven't thought of that I should know about? What are the pros/cons of each knife? What else should I consider when making my decision?

My HHFSH was the ultimate utility chopper combination for me. I sorely miss it. The SHs just don't do a darn thing for me and feel like most everything else made out there to me. By comparison the Fusion handles is ergonomically perfect in my hands for multi-grip and better push through while chopping. I think the FBM is superior for chopping, but slightly inferior in utility due to size. YMMV.

I d say satin the HH and hand smooth the mags to proper fit.

THen it beats the rest mentioned IMO for use and cost:thumbup:

Get 2 SAR4's and tape em together. ;)

I wanna say the blade on the BBSHSH is pretty much the same height as the SHSHII. You want a FSH. Straight FSH.

Try a FSH with mags and then maybe some judicious sanding on the handles will make them feel better.

I really do love my FSH. It makes me question why I got a NMSFNO at all. I also love the FEEL of my BBSHSH. And my user SHSHII. In the push to get rid of some blades. the NMSFNO will be first on the block. FSH will likely be last. One of the only knife I LOVE with mags. (The CGFBM is nice with em too. Wish I was able to get mag Snake.)
 
The mags are just WAY too bulbous in the palm for me to use it comfortably. I could sand them, but I don't know that I trust myself to do it...
 
The only really big difference between the BBSHSH & SHSH is that the SHSH (with half moon pommel) is available in INFI and the BBSHSH is only available in A2.
The BBSHSH handle is very similar to the older fatty A2 SHBA's as well with slightly more belly in the handle than the later SHSH's.

Both are great knives and good luck in you search.

I re-read the OP. I guess it didn't sink in the first time that you were looking for positive input on the SH models. Sorry, and I hope someone can give you the input you need.
 
Send it off to Busse or Horten and have them sanded, both will be able to mke them fit your hands well.

THats why the HH with standards is so special.

If you would have called it Sar-t Condition, you would have way more viewers!! I remember way back when it was Sfno's,,,,, those were the days,

I'm concerned about getting the slabs on the HH messed with. If it ends up just not working for me, then I'd prefer to be able to get back the money I have in it.

Dave...I might have to take you up on that offer. Sounds like, according to your comments, the BB is the way for me. I just LOVE the handle on my SHBA. Anyone wanna let me play with a standard slab HH?

I think I've got at least one laying around. I just have to get back home ... find it ... then ship it out.

So sure ... why not?:)
