I'm wanting to anodize my standoffs and lock bar stabilizer on my ZT 0566. I saw a video on YouTube using a stove. Has anyone tried this? Looks easy. Only issue is my standoffs are black. Are they painted? I want to remove the black before attempting this.

"anodizing" is a misnomer. It is actually heat "coloring" as one does not use an anode or cathode during the process. One should be careful about heat coloring knives and knife parts. By getting the coloring, you are actually annealing the metal. One should fully know the processes and ramifications of such modifications before attempting them to avoid potentially ruining the knife and/or voiding the warranty.

The stabilizer is protected by the pocket clip, is I'm not worried about that part getting scratched. I tried the method out and it took about 20 seconds if that to turn bronze. Very easy. Also the standoffs would really be hard to damage. I wish I could post pics. I use tapatalk and I can't post pics.

I ldecided to stop at the stabilizer. Only thing left is to install the carbon fiber scale when it comes in.

That's who is doing mine. I ordered them about a week ago. Can't wait to get them.
