Here is a piece I just colored. The heat coloring will look a bit better than this on a finished knife, this is just on some rough stock that has been etched.

Sorry about the lint on the right half!

I won't be heat coloring the whole blade if I do this on a knife, the edge will remain at full hardness.

Aaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhh! Sorry, I was just a bit overwhelmed there for a moment. :) Simply amazing, Daniel.

:D Thanks guys!

These tantos are going to be a lot of fun, that's what I'm using the Damascus for.

I also have some cool plans for my next Damascus batch, just wait!

You're killin' me. I told myself I wouldn't order any more knives for a while. but that Damascus is giving my to many ideas!!

Muaaahhhhahhahhahh! :D

Talk to me, I haven't profiled the last piece!

Hey Daniel, what's the size of the Damascus billit? First thing that came to mind was a kiridashi.
Naked handle, no wrap or anything, one hole for a lanyard or maybe 3 holes. Hmmm.....could also make a wharncliffe style blade or......

I either need a second job or stop looking in this forum ;)

Lol! :D

It's about 8" long and an inch tall, 1/4 of a billet left. I could do 2 kiridashis or even a wharncliffe. The pattern and shape of this pic screams wharncliffe to me as well. I like the dashi idea too, they would really show off the steel.

At this point I am very open to suggestions on the damascus as it hasn't been shaped just cut out. Talk to me! :D

That's a tough choice, I'm leaning toward 2 kiridashis. Oh, Oh, Wharencliffe Kiridashi!! :p
