Hello, I'm curious if anyone knows a type of stainless steel that would be good for forging press dies, that can stay strong and hold their shape even if at a high heat, say, 500 degrees F.

All stainless steel should be fine at 500°F. The temper is around 1000°. I'd recommend 420 or 440C.

H-13, not stainless but that’s what they’re designed to do.

Ahhh good to know. I was wondering about stainless because I'm near the sea and everything is rusting!
