Heat treat on HRLM vs. RMD

Does anyone know if there is a difference in the heat treat between the HRLM and the RMD? I am finding that my RMD holds an edge a little better than my HRLM.

This is between 2 knives that are sharpened with the same edge bevel angle. I have found that a convex edge (between 2 RMDs) way outperforms a v ground edge, but I was curious as to if it is just me, or are they heat treated differently?

I am going to convex the edge on it and see (and to be fair, my tests have been extremely "hard use" - cutting hay stuck in a bush hog drive shaft, slicing frozen kidney for the dogs, and scraping the corroded points on a spark plug). Any knife would need to be touched up after those types of chores, but my RMD just seems to stay like a razor a little longer.

Any of you guys have any ideas?

I believe that they are the same and run at about 60 RC. Your RMD may be on the high end of the regular hardness they are put out at. I know my Dogfather has a super hard heat treat because it holds an edge longer than any knife I've ever owned.
