HI all. i just started to make some knifes, i am looking to now build my heat treat oven. but i must admit that wiring up things are not my strong point, right now, i have to post my items to Alberta and it cost about 30 bucks per knife. that is really steep.
i bought some fire bricks today, and wanted to start on making the oven, i have read a fair few post on other people projects, i have a feeling it will be harder then it looks from the post, i have more a wood working back ground so most my tools leans towards wood working as well, tho i have friend that do metal work whom could help me.
anyone on the west side near Vancouver has a used oven they are looking to get rid of?? or maybe willing to offer heat treatment??
i have called around too in Vancouver and heat treatment services are really expensive for small batches and i would have to make a lot of knifes before it get economical.
any advice would really help.
