im looking into buying a heat treat oven and would like some input as to whitch is the better unit ,the "EVEN HEAT" or the "PARAGON"
thanks.

if you go evenheat zawda SP is the man to go to
 to my even heat just 2 things i didnt like the door could be hindged better
and i wish i could have got the rampmaster control upgrade

If you're going to use really high alloy stuff (i.e. S90V, 10V, etc.), it might be worth it to go over 2000F, I think the Evenheat gets hotter. The Evenheat opens to the side rather than downwards, some people like it one way, some the other. Darrel Ralph says he's heard rumors the the Paragons' coils don't wear out as quickly, I can't confirm or deny that rumor; I know people who've had Evenheats that have lost quite a long time though. Both look pretty good to me.

I love my Evenheat. There is loads of room. Its a plus to be able to put allot of steel in it at once for annealing. I also had to promise the wife she could use it for ceramics at times. Ive never had any trouble with it.

My Evenheat will go up to 2300F. But I have never be that high yet. But its good to know I can.

He means Tim Zowada. His site is tzknives.com. He's a great guy, and he seems to have the best prices on Evenheat kilns.

For Paragon Kilns, knifekits.com seems to have decent prices, although I do not know if they are the lowest. They do make it hard to find their kilns though, they're listed under "accessories" (and you need to scroll down the page).

Hello Chris Meyer:
Thats a good price on the Evenheat Oven. When I got this one it was about 950.00. And it work great.

I have purchased a Evenheat for the shop and the only problem I have is trying to remember how to set up the ramps? Soooo I just re read the instructions.
It does out perform the industrial Type ovens I have at my day job but that is not a fair comparision.
