Are there any affordable heat treatment services in Canada like the ones Paul Bos and Texas Knife Supply offer?

I don't have their phone number off hand but just do a search on Google or Yahoo for them. Their name is Allied Heat Treat.

They do my heat treating and I've been quite happy with them.

They have a minimum charge. I think it is $35 for heat treat plus $35 for Cryogenic tempering plus 50 cents for each piece you send. All steel must be the same per batch.

If you want to do small batches contact Jeff Diotte of Downie Knife Supply - 519-978-9387, he handles heat treating for people who want to do small batches. He uses Allied and charges $8 per blade.

Heisler

Where are you located? There are good heat treaters all over Canada.

Heisler, Ranger Original in Alberta is a near full-service knife shop, including heat treat. I've used them, and they are good!

Heisler. Try Ranger in Alberta. They have very reasonable prices and great service. http://www.rangerknives.com

Thanks Dave. I appreciate the feedback, but there is a small typo. The Ranger Knives Website above makes hard use combat style knives and is operated by former US Rangers - You know - "Maximum Death and Destruction - Minimum Time"....

I thought about offering to arm wrestle them for the domain - but then I thought it might be easier to just ask my customers to visit www.knifemaker.ca :D

Hi Rob. Thanks for the correction. What I meant to say was rangeroriginal.com But I was right about the very reasonable prices and great service. I shouldn't be posting after bedtime.:)
