Heat treating and tempering Ti?

I've been gifted a small sheet of .10 thick Ti., and want to make a small blade or two and a couple of scrapers. What color/temp do I need to get it to, and what should I use to quench? I've done steel before, but am totally in the dark on the Ti. Thanks.

Ti ? pure , alloy ? Just like steel the heat treatment depends on the alloy.Most are precipitation hardening.

That translates to - you don't harden most titamium.

i haven't tried, but did some research, it's really difficult to do and you can't really get it hard enough(by knife blade standards) to keep an edge,

I've got some stuff i am working with now on some non-knife projects, it's a bear to work with, i.e. hard to drill, shape etc. has to be worked slow, it builds up heat fast... lots of problems
try google for some info about working with it
