I have s30v on order and awaiting the UPS man's happy knock on the door.

The stock I have coming is from Crucible and is 3/32 X 1 inch. It is for small hunters and kitchen paring knives.

Who amoungst us (I sure hope Sir Paul reads this) can advise me about the proper heat treat for this steel. Please include cryo info (I only use dry ice so far for that).

Thanks; Roger

P.S.; I did do an unsuccesful search a few days back.

Hey Roger, I haven't seen Paul post on here in a long time. You might be better off just giving him a call on the telephone. That S30V sounds like a real performer.

Thanks for that. I'll wait a few days; still got to profile and grind. If don't know better by then I'll research for his email or phone number. I hate to just call up and bug him about that though because I know it is his living. Kinda hope he'll just chime in because he feels sorry for me.

:(

1900 degrees and air quench. temper 2 times at 600 for 2 hours each:D when i was at Kit Carsons last month they rockwelled right at 59:) perfect

Herman, what about cryo on s30v? I do have one little piece about heating s30v but I don't depend on vendor specs for knife making. I'll go with experience.

Nice picture you share with us too. Any more like that around there? Looks like one of a few kind:)
