Some short time back I removed myself from the heat treating buisiness because of my full time knife maker situation. That really freed up a good bit of time for me and I really did need to get out of heat treating for others because of that. Today I received a request from one of us and my immediate thought was to stick by my decision. Except for two things I would too. It is a fellow I like helping and the opportunity to be one of the first kids on the block to heat treat the brand new Crucible particle 154CM. Since I will agree to that for him I will open back up again for any others of us BUT only until Paul Boss gets back to it. That way I am not doing anything unfair to others. I understand Paul is on the verge of starting back up so I should not have much of a wait. As soon as Paul starts again I stop COMPLETELY. If, for some reason, it takes a long time for Paul to start back up I will still end this in a few weeks. I owe IG and ol'Hickery a heat treat any time they choose and maybe another I have forgotten, but except for those that WILL be it. I hope I don't get many but I will be there for you until Paul starts up. Prices will remain the same as before. Oil quenching steels are more expensive.

I started this because I was agreeing to do three blades for one of us here and I don't feel good about doing for one without the others too. I will keep my word on the original posting. Already I am up to the original 3 plus 13 plus 3. I do hope all realise that this time around things are different and when it comes down to a knife dead line vs. a blade HT, guess who wins. So don't depend on the same turn around as previously experienced. Between the knife customer and the HT the knife wins every time.

IG, your blade of choice and Big John's can come in at anytime of choosing. When ever. Those are seperate arrangements and without cost to either of you. and I reserve the right to do so for others as times go by without feeling obligated to others, so long as I do not charge for it.
