Heat treatment

Well, just a little filing/sanding left and my first blade will be ready for HT...

So what I wanted to ask is, who would you recommend for doing heat treatment on small batches (i.e. one blade)? I know I should probably wait till I've ground some more blades and send them off together, but I'm an impatient person. :D

I'd recommend Roger Linger. He's done his homework and I don't think anyone could do a better job.

If you are using air hardening steel then I highly recomend Paul Bos, none are better. He will HT an indiviual blade for you and does Rockwell each blade he HT's. The last time I sent him a small batch he was chargeing $10 for an individual blade, and 20 blades for $70.

If you are using high carbon oil/water hardening steels then it sounds like Roger Linger would be a great choice. I have no experience with him so defer to those that have.

Mike
