How do you do it?

I read in the archives that Ken Onion pre-heats linseed before rubbing it into Koa. I did that tonight...I just put it in a can and applied heat from underneath with a propane torch, put a heavy leather glove on, and with a cotton rag wiped it on real heavy.

It definitely soaked up a lot more than the last Koa handle I did without heating the oil.

Any suggestions? I know Tom likes Watco, and I do too, I was just trying something different

I heat in a double boiler. Heating does help. If you have ever wondered why handrubbed was good as opposed to brushing, the rubbing generates heat as well as forcing it into the grain. Pre heating just helps the process.
