I was just at the post office and the lady behind the counter said" I have a package for you. Feels like it's a box of rocks."

This was what weighed just under 30 pounds.

Now I better get to work sanding to see just what I have here.

I hope you keep getting that stuff in. I can't buy any wood right now, but soon. I like that mallee burl and the ringed gidgee. Beautiful stuff.

I plan to keep getting this wood as long as you guys keep wanting to use it. So far the majority of it tends to sell within a very short time. The agreement I have with my boss is that I have to sell at least 75% of a batch before I order another. If anyone would have asked a couple years ago if I would spend this much for wood I would have said no. Just the shipping alone for this box was $200.

But...... when I started sanding these pieces I remembered why I was so excited about getting this wood. The guy I buy it from gets it from the desert areas of South East Australia. He specializes in wood for knives and guns and really knows what he is doing. I thought the last batch was really good but these ones are amazing.

I will post some more photos this morning and will try to have some posted for sale later today.

Salem, I will look forward to when I can see some of this wood on one of your knives. I like the knives you make and I think you would do the wood justice.

Here are a few of the pieces I have gotten ready so far.

#148 looks to be Vasticola burl? If so I would really like some. Send me an email when you get it sorted please. Actually I would like to buy it (and more like it) even if not:D:D
