Hello, I have one heavy customized Hanwei Miyamoto Musashi Katana for sale.
I purchased a Hanwei Miyamoto Musashi which was 30" blade & 15" tsuka handle in leather wrap. I loved the blade size but feel 15" tsuka is too long to make any swing or action movement. I was never a leather wrap fan, not classic enough. So my idea is to make it into more classic Katana. It is customized by famous skilled Aaron Justice. Which he is also working for Oni Forge for other customized work. I told him my concept and color theme, he loved it and agree to work on it. Here is the result:
What have done:
-Leather wrap to Blood Red silk tsuka wrap
-Black Lacquering rayskin to pop the Red silk wrap & Gold menuki
-Reduced the 15" tsuka handle to 13" (now is perfect size)
-Changed Musashi tsuba to a Nice Dynasty Forge Wave tsuba.
-Added Rattan on Saya
-Change black sageo to off White sageo
The blade was purchased $899 from Hanwei. Customized work was $350+.
The blade was never cut so has no mark on finish. It is handled, so the Red Silk wrap at the Knot will look a bit darker due to hand oil.
