Hi all!

Today was good day. I got out and had some heavy duty job done with my trust Ka-Bar USMC knife. After getting some pine logs into nice and smaller size and fire up for grilling in outdoor nothing is better than having lunch by the fire in middle of forrest.

However I've never liked clip point utility knife. Especially when you use it for hatchet or make wooden logs smaller by whacking your heavy duty knifes spine with another log.

So, what you guys can recomend me:
Non clip point, heavy and hard duty full tang knife. Tougher the better. Something style after you hit worst you have it laughs at your face and could say: "Is that all you got? Bring it on!"

Something that might fit my bill is Rat RC-6. But what other heavy duty non-clippoint knives with full tang could you recomend for me? Let's try to keep price under $300

Thank you!

Scrapyard knives: Dumpster Mutt Bill Siegle Mod
Busse combat: Game Warden

would be also good for that?

Edit: Albeit I think Game Warden might be bit too small...

Swamp Rat Chopweiler.. Sized similar to your Ka-bar but with a nice fat drop point and excellent handle ergo's. Micarta and 52100. Hard to get a better combination for toughness and edge retention. I don't think you can buy a better knife of this type or size for the money.

A custom Ranger Knives RD? I have an RD6 (In my avatar), but the 7 & 9's might be better for what you're looking for.

Obviously, just about any of the HD Busse family knives (Busse, Scrap Yard, & Swamp Rat). The RAT RC6 or you could wait for the RC10 (Or whatever it's going to be called) come out. The Beckers aren't bad, either, but I think they're about 3/16" thick.

You "sound" like you want a 1/4"+ thick blade.

Good luck with whatever you get.

Busse Combat ASH 1
There is also some great deals to be had on the forums right now on CRK knives.

I'd go for an RC-5 - third from the top below:

0.25" thick 1095 blade.

Stainz

Check out NWA knives in the makers section I have heard alot of good things about them and I should have my first in a week or so.

What about:
Moletta's designed MCKF-1 7" blade
Becker (camillus) CU/7 7" blade
Scrapyard - Dogfather Limited Edition. 9" blade

I could get those from Patriot Dan reasonable price.

A custom by Bryan Breeden he will make any design you can draw him. For a little over $300 a tusker by Scott Gossman or a woodsman by NWA Nick Allen. I have one by Bryan and one ordered with both Scott and Nick.

Best wishes,
Mike

I'd also recommend looking at Fiddleback Forge. Great camp/survival type knives, and very good looking, as well.

Bark River Rogue-7" A2 full exposed tang <$200

Almost any kind of handle slabs you can think of

Made in the USA

Ranger, RC and any Busse (Busse/SwampRat/ScrapYard same family)

great warranties, and tougher than most of us need ;)

I am kinda leaning ScrapYard Dogfather LE1 chopper with 9-10" blade... Looks nice... and good warranty...
