So I got out for a hike again yesterday, my JK saw the California countryside for the first time
As it says in the title, I was only able to get a couple of glamour shots. My buddy and I both had halloween plans for last night, so we just wanted to get a quick hike in; there wasn't much time to sit and really put the knife to some wood or other tasks. I will, however, post better shots and a review (probably will be my first knife review) when I get back out and can devote some serious time to it.
I was able to confirm a few things for myself though. The handle is indeed fantastic, great job on this one John. The knife also balances well, and feels like an extension of my hand. Nice and sturdy too at 3/16" thick. While I generally prefer straight-backed and not so dropped-point knives...this one certainly grew on me very quickly. I'm loving where the tip is, and it's a very robust tip as well. Great grind too, and I look forward to tuning up the edge. All in all, very pleased with this knife and I look forward to working this one hard.:thumbup: It really does beg for work. I used to think that was something people just say about JK knives...but I realize the truth now
I figure I'll try to appease you guys with some hike scenery since the in-use shots are lacking
.
Again, thanks John for a really awesome knife!
